The Ruwanwella Suspension Bridge is a notable structure that spans across the Kelani River in Ruwanwella, Sri Lanka. It is considered to be the longest of its kind in the country and was constructed in 2007. The main purpose of the bridge is to provide a convenient footpath for residents of Ruwanwella and nearby villages like Nikawalamulla and Kurupaththa. The bridge measures about 550 feet (170 meters) in length and stands at a height of approximately 40 meters above the river, where it meets the Gurugoda Oya.
To reach the bridge, if you are traveling through Nittambuwa, you can take a right turn towards Pola Road just after passing over the bridge that crosses the Gurugoda Oya. After traveling past the fair on this road, you will eventually arrive at the car park, which is situated right at the entrance of the bridge.
