This stage begins at a point easily visible from the Demodara train station, at which point the train line does a spiral through a tunnel that runs beneath the railway station and winds around the mountain.
On this day I met a smiling pepper picker climbing on a man-made bamboo ladder. I watched his work, made some photos and a short video. Some months after my wife got invited for a function at Rookatenne Estate. She showed my photos to some guest, told about my hike on the Pekoe Trail. Oh wonder, the pepper picking man was one of the guests. He was very happy to watch his photos and video again.
