Sri Mathie plantation, built in 1910 is furnished with family antiques and historic artworks. In a forested area, it is five minutes from the sea, and 20 minutes from Galle Fort.
Generator for WiFI and AC in the library. Sri Mathie is a working estate with coconuts, rubber, mangoes, cinnamon, and pepper. We grow vegetables and chickens provide eggs and cows give fresh milk. Breakfast is included, and dinner upon request.
The space
We are happy to interact or to give guests their privacy. Mary is a retired art historian/archaeologist. She has a deep knowledge of South Asian history and religious traditions. Her 2000 volume library is available for your pleasure.
Guests here can look forward to delicious meals lovingly prepared by Mary who’s Cordon Bleu educated.
There are two beautiful guest rooms and two standalone cottages that can be booked together if traveling in a group, or individually if requiring only one or two rooms.
