A Kavadi Dancer performs through the streets of Kandy during the Esala Perahera in Sri Lanka. Kavadi Dancers are Hindu performers who are invited to participate in the Buddhist Esala Perahera. The Esala Perahera is held to honour the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha which is enshrined within the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and is considered one of the most colourful processions in the world.
